Meet The Face Behind Black Sock Productions

I’m Jonathan Martin, the proud owner of Black Sock Productions.

I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.

Once upon a time, I was a bored college kid who found a camera in my family’s basement. So I started making little youtube skits and funny videos with friends. It wasn’t long before I began experimenting with different genres.

After completing college, I had a couple of 9-5 jobs while still shooting unique videos in my spare time. I started Black Sock Productions (BSP) as a side hustle in 2012 and began to push the envelope.

Living The Dream

One day it hit me that my passion for storytelling would never go away, so I quit my job and decided to focus on finding cool ways to captivate audiences. After transitioning to filming full-time in 2015, there was a ton I had to figure out for myself, but I grew older and wiser. 

Today, I like to think that I’m just as creative as before and that every project has sharpened my skills. Therefore, I always bring my A-game to the table and remember that videos are a team effort. So I promote teamwork and strive to be someone that people want to be around.

Passion and Creativity

I’m passionate about my work and believe my creativity sets me apart. God has blessed me with many avenues to showcase my talent. Some assignments were easy, some were hard, and many were exciting. At the end of the day, I was just happy to get an opportunity to execute the vision of clients and successfully enhance my reputation. 

As a result, it’s incredibly satisfying when I get to present a finished product and see people’s reactions. It’s gratifying to know that all the long hours that went in were worth it. 

When I’m not conceptualizing new ideas, I love to hang out with my family, watch and play sports, catch a movie or play video games (team PlayStation). 

I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.
